Grenada / St. George Beaches

Beaches on Grenada come in many shapes and sizes, but also in two colors. Choose between white sand or black sand beaches during your stay. The white sands are made from flakes of coral and shells that have washed ashore, while the black sands are softer and finer.

Grand Anse Beach, generally considered to be Grenada´s most famous, is located near St. George´s, one of the island´s biggest cities. It´s found on the southern coast of the island, where many of the most popular beaches are located. Another of Grenada´s most popular is La Sagesse Beach. The south coast beaches are somewhat popular, and, as a result, they are lined with resorts. But Grenada´s respect for the environment and its natural beauty has resulted in an unusual prohibition on all beachfront buildings. High rises are not permitted because all buildings must be no taller than three stories, or the palm trees.
