The Bahamas Beaches

Anyone in search of the perfect beach might very well start with the Islands of The Bahamas, beaches are pristine and unbelievably white, with sand so fine it feels soft to the touch. Those in search of something really special should check out Harbour Island´s rose-colored sands, off the coast of Eleuthera. The beaches of The Bahamas are often coupled with shallow transparent water for hundreds of yards out to sea, rising gently to sandbars before finally dropping into the depths.

Xanadu Beach (Grand Bahama Island)

Is one of the better beaches in the Bahamas located on Grand Bahamas Island. This is a great place for families, as the water is more calm then some of the other areas and has convenient access to restaurants and facilities in nearby Freeport. Note that this is also one of the more crowded beaches on the island.

Cable Beach (New Providence Island)

Located on New Providence Island, this is one of the best beaches in Bahamas for travelers who want to stay near the shops, bars, and gambling outlets found on the island. Cable Beach is also a popular choice for families with children, due to its handy access to restrooms, hotels, and restaurants. The beach is about 4 miles long.

Cabbage Beach (Paradise Island)

Think Vegas in the Tropics. It seems as if most of the sunbathers dozing on the sands here are recovering from the previous evening´s partying, and it´s likely to be crowded near the megahotels, but you can find a bit more solitude on the beach´s isolated northwestern extension (Paradise Beach), which is accessible only by boat or on foot. Lined with palms, sea grapes, and casuarinas, the sands are broad and stretch for at least 3km (2 miles).
