The Bahamas Boating and Sailing

The Islands Of The Bahamas attract over 100,000 boaters each year. Literally thousands of miles of calm Caribbean coastline and fascinating excellent for boaters and sailors that enjoy year-round access to the excellent cruising waters of the Sea of Abaco, and boats constantly make the crossing from Florida to the Out Islands of The Bahamas for fishing and diving expeditions.

Marine facilities range from state-of-the-art ports on the main islands to good and safe anchorages on the remote areas of the Out Islands. There are at least 63 active marinas with 3,140 slips, 12 boat repair yards, 6 bareboat charter companies and 34 ports of entry.

If you are far from being a sailor, you can still enjoy the island by boat. There are plenty of sailing tours available.

The Annual Grand Bahama Sailing Regatta, held in June, is a popular event for boating enthusiasts.

Since the day they were first discovered by ship, the 700 islands of The Bahamas have increasingly become a magnet for sea vessels.
